Shopify
Managed destination - Vendo can model Shopify as an event destination. Confirm the destination is enabled in your Vendo environment before running a production sync.
Shopify is also available as a source for storefront events, order data, customer records, products, and server-side webhooks.
Activation Capabilities
The Vendo app catalog marks Shopify as accepting event data.
| Data type | What Vendo prepares |
|---|---|
| Events | Modeled events with a timestamp, event name, customer identity, order identifiers, and mapped properties |
Shopify activation is event-only. It does not replace the Shopify source, which is responsible for importing Shopify orders, customers, products, checkouts, and storefront activity into Vendo.
Required Identity
Map the strongest available customer or order identifiers for each event.
| Identifier | Use |
|---|---|
| Shopify customer ID | Preferred customer match key when present |
| Customer match key for events that do not include a Shopify customer ID | |
| Order ID | Order lifecycle and purchase-event correlation |
| Checkout ID | Checkout and cart-event correlation |
Setup
- Connect Shopify from Apps or install the Vendo Shopify app.
- Create a destination sync to Shopify from Destinations.
- Choose the source table, model, or event stream to activate.
- Select the event data type.
- Map the event timestamp, event name, and customer or order identifiers.
- Save the destination and run a small test sync before enabling a schedule.
Platform Details

|---|---|
| Customer profile updates | Not part of the Shopify destination contract |
| Audience or segment membership | Not supported for Shopify activation |
| Product catalog updates | Not part of this destination |
| Shopify data import | Use the Shopify source |
Verify Setup
- Confirm the Shopify destination is connected and active in Vendo.
- Run a small test sync with known event rows.
- Confirm Vendo job logs show rows sent, skipped, and failed.
- Check the target Shopify workflow or downstream app that consumes the event.
- Confirm event timestamps, customer identity, and order identifiers match the source rows.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | What to check |
|---|---|
| Destination cannot be selected | Confirm Shopify is connected and has destination capability in Vendo |
| Events are skipped | Confirm event name, timestamp, and at least one customer or order identifier are mapped |
| Events do not match customers | Prefer Shopify customer ID when available; otherwise confirm email normalization |
| Order events do not correlate | Confirm order ID or checkout ID is mapped from the Shopify source data |
