Managing Preferences
Per-User Settings
Each team member can configure their own notification preferences:
- Go to Settings > Notifications
- Toggle channels on/off: Web, Email, Slack
- Set Quiet Hours to suppress email and Slack during off-hours
- Customize per-event preferences in the event matrix
Quiet Hours
Quiet hours suppress email and Slack notifications during specified times. Web notifications are always delivered.
- Enable/disable quiet hours
- Set start and end times (30-minute increments)
- Choose your timezone
- Notifications sent during quiet hours are silently dropped (not queued)
Slack Integration
Setup
- Go to Settings > Notifications
- Click Connect Slack
- Authorize the Vendo bot in your Slack workspace
- Select a channel for notifications
- Choose which event types to send to Slack
What You Get
- Rich Block Kit messages with contextual information
- One notification per event (no spam)
- “View” buttons linking directly to the relevant page in Vendo
- Event-specific formatting with emoji indicators
Disconnecting
Go to Settings > Notifications > Slack and click Disconnect. This removes the bot token and stops all Slack notifications for your team.
Email Notifications
Email notifications are sent via Customer.io when triggered. Each event type can be independently enabled or disabled for email delivery.
Email respects quiet hours — if a user has quiet hours enabled and an event fires during that window, the email is suppressed.
Troubleshooting
Not receiving notifications
- Check Settings > Notifications to ensure the channel is enabled
- Verify the specific event type is toggled on for your desired channel
- Check if quiet hours are active (email/Slack only)
- For Slack, verify the bot is still connected and the channel exists
Slack notifications not arriving
- Ensure the Vendo bot is still authorized in your Slack workspace
- Check that the selected channel hasn’t been archived or deleted
- Verify event types are enabled in Slack notification settings
- Check the Vendo bot hasn’t been removed from the channel
Email notifications going to spam
- Add
noreply@vendodata.comto your email contacts - Check your email provider’s spam filters
- Verify your email address is correct in your profile settings
