Shopify to Customer.io
Send Shopify customer profiles and lifecycle events to Customer.io with stable identity mapping and observable delivery checks.

Use this workflow to power Customer.io campaigns from Shopify activity. Vendo sends known customer profiles and normalized lifecycle events through the Customer.io destination.
Before you start
- Connect Shopify and confirm the required source data is syncing.
- Create or choose the target Customer.io workspace and data pipeline source.
- Prepare the credentials shown in Customer.io.
- Choose a stable Shopify customer identifier for Customer.io
id.
Data sent to Customer.io
| Data | Examples |

| Profiles | Customer ID, email, name, order counts, and lifetime totals |
| Events | Checkout, order, fulfillment, cancellation, and refund lifecycle events |
| Event properties | Order ID, value, currency, products, discounts, and timestamps |
The canonical destination payloads are documented in Customer.io events and properties.
Configure the destination
- Open Data → Integrations → Destinations and add Customer.io.
- Enter the credentials for the correct workspace or region.
- Test and save the destination app.
- Create or update the Shopify integration and choose Customer.io.
- Select the profile and event data you want to send.
- Run a small test before enabling a historical window.
Verify
- Find a test customer in Customer.io.
- Confirm the identifier, email, and expected profile attributes.
- Open the activity log and confirm a recent Shopify event with the expected order ID and timestamp.
- Confirm the event can enter the intended campaign or segment.
- Check the Vendo destination job for rejected records.
Troubleshooting

| Customer not found | Identity field, source data, and destination credentials |
| Event appears on the wrong person | Customer ID mapping and anonymous/known merge behavior |
| Campaign does not trigger | Customer.io trigger filters and event/property names |
