How to Create a Mixpanel Service Account

This guide shows how to create a Mixpanel service account for Vendo. The service account must have admin privileges to write data to Mixpanel.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. In your Mixpanel dashboard, go to the service accounts section.
2. Select the option to add a new service account.
3. Type a name for the service account, for example “Shopify”.
4. Click the button to create the service account.
5. Open the project role settings.
6. Select Admin. Vendo needs admin privileges to write data to your Mixpanel project.
7. Set the expiration to Never. Then you do not have to activate the destination again later.
8. Click Add to save the new service account.
9. Copy the generated username.
10. Copy the secret.

Important: You need the username and the secret when you set up the Mixpanel destination in Vendo.
