How to Create a Mixpanel Service Account

This guide walks through creating a Mixpanel service account for integration purposes. The service account requires admin privileges to write data to Mixpanel.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Navigate to Service Accounts — Access the service accounts section in your Mixpanel dashboard.
2. Add a New Service Account — Select the option to add a new service account.
3. Name Your Service Account — Type a name such as “Shopify” as your identifier.
4. Create the Service Account — Click the button to proceed with account creation.
5. Update the Project Role — Access the project role settings for configuration.
6. Set Admin Privileges — Select Admin to give admin privileges to the app, so that Vendo can write data to your Mixpanel project.
7. Configure Expiration Settings — Set expiration to Never, so that you don’t have to reactivate the integration later.
8. Save the Account — Click Add to finalize and save your new service account.
9. Copy Your Username — Retrieve your generated username credentials.
10. Copy Your Secret — Obtain your secret key for authentication purposes.

Important: You will need both the username and secret when configuring the Mixpanel destination in Vendo.
