The terms that Vendo uses in the app and in these docs, what each term means, and the old terms to replace.

This page gives the meaning of each Vendo term. The docs and the app use one term for one thing. If you find an old term in the docs, tell support.
Connect your data
Platform
A product that you can connect to Vendo, such as Shopify, Meta Ads or Mixpanel.
App
Your connection to one platform. The App holds the credentials. Each Source and Destination uses the credentials of its App. One App can have more than one Source.
Do not use: App Connection, Connection.
Source
An import of data from an App into your warehouse. A Source sets which data Vendo imports and how often.
Do not use: Connector.
Destination
An export of data from Vendo to an App. A Destination sets which data Vendo sends and how often.
Do not use: Integration.
Web Tracking
The Vendo script and SDK that collect events from your website and send them to Vendo.
Do not use: Vendo Tracker.
Historical backfill
An import of the data that a platform recorded before you connected its App.
Change History
A stream on an ad-platform Source. It imports the changes that people and tools made in your ad account, such as a new campaign or a new budget.
Ad Creatives
A stream on an ad-platform Source. It copies the image of each ad into Vendo, so the image stays available after the platform removes it.
Understand your data
Event
A thing that happened in your business, such as order_completed. Vendo identifies an event by its name. More than one Source can send the same event.
Property
A value on an event or on a user, such as revenue or country.
Customer 360
One view of each customer. It combines the data about that customer from all your Sources.
Identity Resolution
The process that finds the records from different Sources that belong to the same person. Vendo then gives that person one ID.
Audience
A group of users that match the rules that you set. You can send an Audience to a Destination.
Data Catalog
The group in the Data menu that lists your ads, events, customers, metrics and audiences. Each item has a definition.
Data Health
The page that shows the health of your data for the whole workspace. From it, you can open your data contracts.
Data Studio
The part of Vendo where you shape data with SQL or Python models.
Do not use: Transformations, Data Transformation.
Reporting Timezone
The timezone that Vendo uses to put events into days for charts and metrics. The default is UTC.
Analyze and report
Metric
A saved business definition of a number, such as Gross Revenue. A metric is Draft until its definition is complete. Then it is Live. A person can mark a Live metric as Verified.
Breakdown
A dimension that splits the result of a chart into rows or series, such as country or plan.
Chart
A saved query and its display settings. You can put the same chart on a Dashboard and in a Document.
Do not use: Widget.
Dashboard
A page of charts that shows your data quickly. A date range that you set on the Dashboard applies to its charts.
Do not use: Insights.
Reports
The menu item that lists your Dashboards and your saved reports.
Do not use: Insights.
Explore
The full-screen page where you make or change a chart and see its results.
Document
A saved page for analysis, notes and charts. A Document is Private or Shared. The app menu shows Documents as Docs.
Do not use: Library.
Business Timeline
A timeline of the changes in your account, such as changes to campaigns and budgets.
Do not use: Timeline, for the name of the page.
Work with the Agent
Agent
The Vendo AI assistant. It answers questions about your data and does work in your account.
Do not use: Copilot.
Task
A unit of work that a person or an agent does. A Task can have steps.
Do not use: Automations, for the name of the page.
Automation
A Task that Vendo runs for you, one time or on a schedule.
Decision
A request for a person to approve or reject work that an agent prepared. Decisions are in the Decisions inbox.
Do not use: Approval.
Account and access
Workspace
Your team account in Vendo. Your Apps, Sources, data and members belong to one workspace.
Access Level
The permissions of a member in a workspace. The levels are Owner, Admin, Editor and Viewer.
